For teams reviewing Own Archive & Backup

Review your Own renewal with a clear plan for your data.

Explore an archive in your own database, with history accessible inside Salesforce. Evaluate the data, access and migration work before deciding what to change.

Start with what you need to protect.

Archive and backup solve different problems. Your evaluation should reflect what you use today and what your team needs next.

Own Archive

Review retained records, files, storage costs and how users access history. Plan how an authorised export could move into your chosen database.

Explore export migration

Own Backup

Review backup coverage and prove the required recovery scenarios. Adding an archive does not replace your existing backup protection.

Explore Vivly Backup

Keep historical data in a database your team manages.

The main Vivly Archive package runs on Windows and SQL Server. Your DBA can inspect retained tables and include the database in your own operating and recovery procedures, on premises or in your cloud environment.

Snowflake has a separate Archive distribution. We confirm the host, database and package together, including where captured files will live.

Follow a Salesforce archive policy through selection, preview and execution, then open the retained history. This recording shows Vivly Archive; an Own export migration needs its own validation.

Make history accessible to the right people.

Lightning Web Components bring the archive into Salesforce record pages and tabs. Access controls determine which users, records and fields are available.

Salesforce access

View archived details, related history and authorised files. Add Search and Reports for teams that need them.

Approved users

Approve environment membership and named seats. Signing in alone does not grant archive access.

Record & field controls

Combine Salesforce object and field permissions with verified record access or explicit archive grants.

Operational oversight

Review job results and audit history. Keep source removal separate from copying and checking the archive.

Archive grants are managed explicitly; Salesforce sharing rules are not automatically replicated in full. These controls require the matching Salesforce components and Archive runtime.

Explore the Salesforce experience

Evaluate alongside your existing setup.

Bring your renewal timeline, current product scope and a representative dataset. Together, we can define what a successful evaluation must prove before you commit to a change.

Check the data

Inspect counts, relationships and files in the destination. For Own exports, confirm mappings and gaps before a larger import.

Test with your users

Have the application owner and DBA review the setup. Test an approved reader and a user who should be denied access.

Agree the transition

Plan schedules, API usage, historical coverage and recovery responsibilities. Decide on cutover only after the agreed checks pass.

Make the costs clear too. Compare licences, modules, user access, hosting, implementation and support across the same scope. A renewal quote alone does not describe the full cost of switching.

Questions before you switch

Is Vivly an alternative to Own Archive or Own Backup?

They are separate evaluations. Vivly Archive retains selected historical Salesforce records and provides access through Salesforce components. Vivly Backup has its own snapshot and recovery scope. We review your existing products and requirements before proposing either.

Can we evaluate Vivly while keeping Own?

A scoped evaluation can be planned alongside your existing setup. We first review API capacity, schedules and access. Initial archive testing keeps source records in place; source removal needs a separate decision. Keep existing protection until the agreed replacement has passed acceptance.

Can you move our existing Own archive?

The current migration utility imports authorised customer exports, including CSV data and local files. Export access, mappings, relationships and completeness must be checked against a representative sample. It does not extract directly from your Own tenant.

Will imported Own records appear in the Salesforce Viewer?

Not automatically. The migration utility stores an imported dataset. Mapping and publishing that dataset to the Archive Viewer require a separately agreed implementation and acceptance test.

Where does the data live?

The main Windows Archive package writes to your SQL Server, on premises or in your cloud environment. Snowflake is a separate Archive distribution. Other database variants and migration destinations have their own validation status; we confirm the exact combination in your proposal.

How is Vivly priced?

We scope a proposal around your Salesforce orgs, environments, users, modules, deployment and migration work. Ask for the licence, implementation, support and infrastructure costs to be itemised, together with renewal terms. There is no automatic contract-buyout offer on this page.

Bring your renewal. Leave with a clearer scope.

Tell us whether you use Own Archive, Backup or both, where you want the data to live, and when you need to make a decision.
